Slab on Grade Preparation Project 

Despard Contracting recently completed a full slab on grade preparation project in the Happy Valley area, bringing together excavation expertise, foundational precision, and seamless coordination with trades to ensure a successful concrete pour. From the outset, the focus was on delivering a clean, well-integrated base that would support the structural and service needs of the future build.

The work began with strategic excavation and compaction to establish a solid foundation footprint. Despard’s team executed all knockout placements with precision—providing essential access points for future mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. Critical to the project’s success was close collaboration with the plumbing crew, ensuring all in-ground rough-ins were installed correctly and aligned with building plans.

To support long-term site integrity, we installed a robust perimeter drainage system, addressing both surface and subsurface water flow. All underground services—including water, sewer, and electrical conduits—were coordinated and placed ahead of schedule, ensuring the site was fully prepped and inspected before the slab pour.
